Nigerian prolific film writer, Kunle Afolayan has added another colourful feather to his beautiful cap all the way in Amsterdam for inspiring new story in “Mokalik (Mechanic)”.

‘Mokalik’ follows the acquisition of Nollywood veteran actress Genevieve Nnaji’s self-directed debut movie, ‘Lion Heart’

Netflix is aggressively penetrating into African market by strategically acquiring notable movies from the continent.

The American streaming platform has acquired the right to veteran movie producer and director Kunle Afolayan’s latest movie, ‘Mokalik’ and a few others.

This was announced by the acclaimed filmmaker himself. “I wish to inform you that Netflix has acquired “Mokalik” and some other of my films,” he said.

Featuring versatile songstress Simi, Femi Adebayo, Charles Okocha, Mokalik’s plot follows the story of an 11-year-old boy, Jaiye, from the middle-class suburbs, who decides to find his path in life as an apprentice at a mechanic workshop.

‘Mokalik’ follows the acquisition of Nollywood veteran actress Genevieve Nnaji’s self-directed debut movie, ‘Lion Heart’ at the Toronto International Film Festival.
